There are many reasons to stay at the Ocean Reef Resort – the excellent accommodations, outstanding amenities and the popular Shipwreck Island Waterpark.
But two of the best reasons to stay and play at Ocean Reef are literally right under your nose – the Banana Boat Lounge and Cafe Du Port. These two eateries and bars offer refreshing food and beverages with a side order of ocean breeze and lovely beach views on the menus.
Following a recent renovation of the Ocean Reef's spacious pool deck, both venues now boast open-air seating alongside the Atlantic Ocean. The Banana Boat, which used to serve as the resort's indoor lounge, now features large rolltop doors that open to the outdoor bar area, giving guests the choice of ocean views with or without windows.
Featuring a bar, tables and umbrellas for plenty of outdoor seating, the Banana Boat serves an extensive lunch and dinner menu as well as all your favorite mixed drinks, including frozen daiquiris, margaritas, pina coladas and the Banana Boat's famous VooDoo bucket, which includes four different types of rum, fruits, juices and enough straws for everyone in your party.
The food menu features a wide selection of appetizers and lighter fare, like Buffalo wings, salads, nachos, burgers and sandwiches. There’s also a special children’s menu offering cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers and other kids’ favorites. Save money with daily happy hour drinks and food specials from 4 to 8 p.m.
The new and improved Banana Boat now stretches all the way to the adjoining Cafe du Port, which features a large canopy for covered dining. Serving breakfast and lunch, this is a great place to start your day with all the American breakfast classics, such as fresh fruit and juices, eggs any way you want them, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes and pancakes, as well as standard lunch fare.
So whether you want a hearty breakfast, light dinner or a liquid lunch, look no farther than your own back yard at the Ocean Reef Resort.
